Learn the meditative art of Japanese floral arranging; Ikebana

生け花 - Ikebana (literally "giving life to flowers") is the Japanese art of flower arrangement, the idea is creating flower arrangements that brings nature and humanity closer together.

The philosophy behind Ikebana is grounded in Japanese aesthetics, which emphasizes simplicity, understated elegance, and respect for nature. Ikebana is not just simply about arranging flowers, but creating a harmonious relationship between the natural materials used in the arrangement and the space around them. For this 1,5 hour workshop I will guide you through the principles and elements of Ikebana, teaching you how to bring your floral arrangement to life.

Workshop includes:

-Kenzan (Japanese floral pin holder)

-An array of unique floral

-Vase holder

-All materials

-Bubbles and a few nibbles

You will be able to take your arrangement, vase holder and Kenzan home with you to reuse and practice.

The Workshop will be held at 2pm on the second floor of Livingstone’s St Ives gallery. 30 The Mall, Clifton, Bristol, BS8 4DS. Just Bring yourself!
